A Memorial Project Honouring Those Of Simcoe County Who Made The Supreme Sacrifice & Those Who Served Canada With Honour & Distinction.

Plaques and Memorials are numerous around Simcoe County that recognize those of the County that paid the ultimate sacrifice. Nowhere in the County is there a Memorial to those that served and returned, or those that served and maybe never even left our shores.
We are changing that. Peacekeepers Park in Angus currently recognizes Peacekeepers and Afghanistan fatalities. This park will now recognize LIVING VETERANS OF SIMCOE COUNTY.
The Scale of the
Remembrance Project
Location: Peacekeeper's Park, Commerce St., Angus, ON — Corner of Commerce Road & Mill Street (near flag poles)
The Project will consist of 40 two-sided walls placed at the south end of the park where the flag poles are located. Each wall is broken down to:
Each wall will hold 25 plaques. Walls are 6" wide × 4" high. There are 40 walls (2-sided).
Throughout Simcoe County there are numerous Memorials that recognize those that Made the Supreme Sacrifice. We are determined to Make Sure No Man Or Woman Is Left Behind. Through Research we Have Discovered over 300 Simcoe County Fallen Are Not Recognized.
We will be Recognizing 2,300+ Veterans Who Gave All, by Showing Their Image (When Available), Telling A Brief Biography, & Honouring Their Next Of Kin For Their Sacrifice.
The Fallen from Simcoe County date back to the 2nd Boer War in South Africa (1899–1902). From 1899–1902 We Will Also Be Honouring Those Of Simcoe County Who Lost Their Lives While Serving In The Canadian Military During Peace Time (Cold War).

Honours those who made the supreme sacrifice. Includes their photo, biography, service details, location of sacrifice, and family information.
Example: Private Albert Ernest Clapp — Lost his life in France, February 27th, 1915. Resident of Waubaushene, ON. Son of Melvin & Adelaide of Vancouver, BC. Enlisted 1914, 7th Battalion General Service Canadian Military in Valcartier, PQ. He was 18 years of age.
3.5" × 5.5" — Living & Veterans
Each panel honours the service of those who were born in, or resided in Simcoe County for at least 3 years. Honours veterans who did not lose their life during their service.

A 20-foot obelisk will be erected at the south end of the park near the flag poles. It will serve as the central monument of the "They Shall Grow Not Old" Remembrance Project.
Platinum Sponsors will be identified on a separate wall near the Obelisk and also identified on History Plaques.
